Computer feels I need allies.

Post by Midnight_Carnival »

Not a huge technical issue, as the game is fully playable, but a problem I was wondering if you knew something about.
I have Battle for Wesnoth 1.12.6 on Windows and everything works fine except for one small issue.
Whenever I play on a multiplayer map with four computer opponents in two factions against each other and me against everyone, the game starts off with me allied to one of the computer players and one against everyone else.

Is this a known bug, or is it something new?
Does anyone have any advice for me (apart form "get the newest version of Wesnoth - nobody has ever heard of your problem but it is fixed in the newest version of Wesnoth, any technical issue can be fixed by getting the newest version of Wesnoth" :annoyed: )?
...apparenly we can't go with it or something.

Can't you just assign the sides you want in the game creation screen?

When creating the game, untick the "Use map settings" option. Afterwards you will have more choice about setting up teams.
Try out the dark board theme.

I do, I tell the computer that I am in team 1, comp1 and comp2 are in team 2 and comp3 and comp4 are in team 3

when the game starts, I am put on a team with one of the computer players and the other one I said was on the team with it is put on it's own.
I am not using map settings

Well, what map, and are there any add-ons involved?

random maps, which random map generator is used I don't know.
Mods?
Um, I think the colour mod, but I am not sure if the issue existed before the mod, going to try now and see if it does this without the colour mod, but I think it does.

deactivated the colour mod and the extended unit names mod and I still had this issue.
Then I saw that with random maps there is a "shuffle sides" option which I didn't know about which had been ticked.
I no don't have computer allies any more.
Thanks.
