Tath general alerts himself, calling himself Sir

Post by revolting_peasant »

I'm playing "Descent into Darkness", on medium difficulty, with version 1.13.8.

In the 'Small Favor' Scenario, part 1, we need to sneak into this manor. If you're noticed by one of the guard, he calls General Taylor, the leader in the castle:
Sir! Undead creatures are coming out of the forest! Wake the guards immediately!
and General Taylor then calls out:
To arms, men!
The thing is, it's possible that General Taylor himself will be the first person to notice you. This happens if you've sent a squad of Shadows/Nightstalks to assassinate him. In that case, we see the same behavior: Taylor calls out to himself with those same words ("Sir! etc."). That's a bug. Instead, in this case, Taylor should only have one message, saying:
Undead creatures are upon us! Guards - to arms!
(as the undead are not quite coming out of the forest.)

Thanks for the report. Fixed just now in 1.13.10+dev.
I forked real life and now I'm getting merge conflicts.

Just out of curiosity, what does the underscore before the string (i.e. message = _ "blah blah") mean?

It marks it as translatable.
