Game instantly crashes

I've been trying to use Wesnoth. It instantaneously crashes. I open the program and the game crashes as soon as the icon pops up on my application. No music, nothing.

Here are my specs:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
Processor: 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Startup Disk: Macintosh HD
Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

I am trying to use: Wesnoth_1.12.6

Sometimes it works for a little and then later, when I try to open it, it crashes again. I've previously wiped all of my campaigns. Furthermore, sometimes if I re-download, it will work temporarily.

Hello!
I use the same Wesnoth version on the same laptop model. It runs flawlessly in my case.
It's not a bug.

Have you tried restarting it? Or, checking if you have too little hard disk space?

By the way, I use the Mac OS El Capitan 10.11.6. Did not bother updating to 10.12.0
