Save files gone (?) when upgrading from 1.12.5 to 1.13.4
I'm using Debian Stretch. Yesterday I installed the wesnoth-1.13 package and its dependencies, which gives me Wesnoth 1.13.4 (did not uninstall wesnoth-1.12, which is Wesnoth 1.12.5). Unfortunately, save files are not migrated, nor do I know where to find the old save files in order to copy them myself. I tried looking in
So,
1. Where are the saved games located?
2. Can I copy/move the 1.12.5 saved games to the 1.13.4 saved game directory?
/usr/share/games/wesnoth
(they weren't there) and in ~/.wesnoth
(no such directory).So,

Save files are in ~/.local/share/wesnoth/1.XY/saves
You can copy them. If you have bad Luck, it can happen that you load a save but the campaign has received changes.
However, I think you will be fine.
There is as well an option to disable this warning when loading saves from an older version in the advanced settings.
Edit: symlinking would be an option too

Try out the dark board theme.

You might get some warning messages when loading them in 1.13.x, but I would expect them to work. However, I'd suggest only loading beginning-of-scenario saves, not autosaves or other mid-scenario saves.revolting_peasant wrote:2.
