Mac OS X Wesnoth 1.8.6 crashes at startup

I double click on the Wesnoth application and it unexpectedly quits during launch.

I am using a Mac OS 10.5.8
I am trying to run Wesnoth 1.8.6 and I believe the configured language is English.
Attached is the backtrace copy.

Could you help me with this problem?

(Not exactly the same, because the OS is a different version.)

It might help the developers if you post your backtrace doc there.

I have an idea about how to fix this, but it's going to have to wait until I can get my old Quicksilver G4 out of storage for testing, which won't be for a few days.

I've got the same problem; I had 1.8.2 before, worked fine, upgraded to 1.8.6, and now it immediately crashes. Was it ever clear where this came from?

I've got exactly the same problem, 1.8.5 worked perfectly fine, but 1.8.6 crashes during startup. I am also using a mac os 10.5.8

I had exactly the same result. 1.8.6 doesn't run on 10.5.x but works fine on my younger brother's computer (He uses 10.6.x)
