Graphics Smear on the Mac version.
Hey, first, I'd like to say this game is awesome, an immaculate combination of fire emblem and nintendo wars' best features. However, on my mac version (i downloaded the most recent version yesterday), tile graphics frequently smear to the right, as if they've been wet and smudged with a brush, when i open up a campaign map. if I move my cursor over the smeared tiles, they set back to normal, but the ones to the right of them them sometimes smear instead, eventually spreading the smear to the info bar, where moving the mouse over it does nothing. The only thing I've found to fix it is to re-size the window, but it's annoying to do, because something similar happens whenever a message pops up. It didn't happen during the tutorial campaign, but when I went back to the tutorial, the problem was there as well.
Is this a known glitch? What can I do?

Can you post a screenshot?
Also, what Mac do you have; model, speed, RAM and version of Mac OS X? (Look in → About This Mac)
Thanks.

Grab. /Applications/Utilities/Grab.app
Re: Graphics Smear on the Mac version.
Actually, Grab doesn't take a great snapshot of the window; something to do with the way SDL is rendered onscreen. Might be easier to use Command+Shift+3. which takes a screenshot of the entire screen and saves it to the desktop in png format.
Also, what Mac model do you have? What's the processor speed and RAM, please?

Re: Graphics Smear on the Mac version.
I see similar smears on occasion, but usually vertically shorter.

Seems like the bluring fiter behind the transparent dialog fields are applied on the wrong region. It usally should be only behind that window/dialog-thingy.

Re: Graphics Smear on the Mac version.
I've experienced the same issue on my mac too, but only when the scenario objectives show up (IIRC).

I'm finally admitting that this will be a very long (if not permanent) Wesbreak. Thank y'all for the great times, and may Wesnoth rise to become one of the most popular games on the planet.

Yeah, they only show up for me when not in fullscreen.boru wrote:I get these too, but only when not in Fullscreen mode.

Re: Graphics Smear on the Mac version.
This bug only affects Mac users, as far as we know, so it's a bit hard to reproduce for most coders. But boru's screenshot and the point about the issue only happening in windowed mode give a few clues. I would be interested in the answers to the following questions. (Reminder: there is a hotkey for opening the objective dialog at will, e.g. ctrl+j.)Eleazar wrote:Yeah, they only show up for me when not in fullscreen.
What happens if you resize your window by just one pixel horizontally and then open the dialog? Does the blur region changes shape? Does it move? Does it stay the same?

Re: Graphics Smear on the Mac version.
Summoning the objectives dialog produced smears more or less as previously shown. I toggled fullscreen on and off to get rid of the junk.silene wrote:What happens if you resize your window by just one pixel horizontally and then open the dialog? Does the blur region changes shape? Then i shrunk the window by about 1 pixel (i'm not precisely sure, since i did it by hand). I then got new and different glitches: The lines persisted after the dialog was banished,
but they would disappear as i highlighted various hexes with the mouse.
