Really tired of the Visual C++ Crashes... .. .. .

Post by JezterMan »

Hey first here's my specs...
Wesnoth 1.6.4
Running Vista
Full screen mode

Problem is game crashes way too often ... Error with C++ ... yada yada
I'm sure it's a known prob..

Noticed only in MultiPlayer but i don't a lot of single campaigns..

What's the problem? Is this fixed in 1.6.5 .... ??

anyway TIA!

Who knows? There is no information in your report at all to tell.

I have no idea why Soliton answered in such a denying way. At least your bug report was well-written and the supplied information made it easy to reproduce. Don't worry, the fix is easy: remove the fridge magnets from your box. The crashes should stop then.

the issue is known (at least to me) but in 1.7.5, for most people 1.6 runs smooth, but sometimes files might suffer a random break. First thing is to check if yours aren't caused by some malicious outern sources - scan for viruses etc. Another option is to try reinstalling the game..speaking of which i wonder if that would fix my 1.7 crashes..

Hey,
sry ... re-read my post and didn't quite explain it well....
not a noob ... was just kinda P'd off

running vista on this machine...
vista home 6.0 (build 6002) w/ sp2 32-bit
enough of the good stuff to run the game smoothly... ram etc..

Wesnoth 1.6.4 english, fullscreen... default settings with exceptions... game speed 16x
all MP add-ons up-to-date +opponents/teammates up-to-date
crash isn't confined to any single Add-on or game, etc... so i will keep my replies in this forum

this most recent crash happened in an MP game ... The Haunted Woods Add-On...
(don't know if it even helps but i didn't save any prior)

I'm including the 3 requested files....

stderr.txt
the save file
...and a screenshot of the error message received

anyway ... tia!

it's just a generic error message. unfortunately windows hides more and more information from the user with every new version.
