Mountains and villages out of place?

Post by Valenwood »

Hi all!
I'm not sure if this is the correct place for asking this, but it seems like the right place, so I'll just go ahead :) I've been away from Wesnoth for quite some time now (again); last time I was on was when 1.4 had been released for a while. I downloaded and installed 1.6 yesterday, and found some weird graphical issues in game. All mountains and most of the villages seem to be out of place, appearing to be have been moved upwards somehow, and it looks really awkward. Perhaps this is intended, I don't know, but I am attaching a jpeg of how things look for me in game, circling the "problem areas" in red. When I'm looking at screenshots at http://www.wesnoth.org, I do not see these issues at all, so I am somewhat confused :) Is there anything that can be done, to remedy this?

Kind regards,
Valenwood

Maybe you installed over a previous version or otherwise messed something up.

I thought I made sure not to install over any previous version, but perhaps I did indeed mess up, because I tried uninstalling everything once again and reinstalling. Now it looks like it should do :) Thank you, zookeeper!

I did a fresh install and got this problem 'out of the box'

I thought it was the map at first, bu it's in every map I've played so far in every campaign
