Multiplayer problem in 1.2.7
I downloaded wesnoth and when i tried to go play multiplayer i can't go there. i choosed server then it says: Illegal character in compression input, so can someone tell me how i can go play multiplayer?

1.2.7 is quite an old version. Try getting the latest stable version (1.4.4).

i have the same problem described above, except that i'm using an even older version (1.1.1). however, as i'm using the xandros build of linux, i don't really have the option to update further - this is the latest stable build for my OS. is there a workaround, or am i out of luck until/unless i can get ubuntu on this computer?

You can try to compile it for your self but it will probably fail because of outdated libraries.
If you have that old packages in your system I suggest upgrading your system. Maybe you have to witch testing or new distro.
