How to kick the host - when host no longer is playing ?

I was just playing a game on the server when the host was removed from the game or rather his client died but it somehow continued to be the host im the game as far as the other clients was concered.


So basically we had no host - and no host was playing.
Thus we where hosed :-!

We had no other choice than to abandon the game.

So why are there no way the server can be made aware of the fact that the host client is dead and move the server to another host ? Maybe the player can initiate som kind of keep-alive message and if other clients dont reply it get kicked from the game ?

Or even better if all other players says so - maybe one could change the host from one to another player ?

Right now this is kind of fouled up.

At the moment, there is no way for the other players to kick the host when the host is disconnected/non-responsive.
The only solution is that one of the other players saves the game and rehosts the save.
