sound clips in 0.4.8

Is there supposed to be a attack sound/hit sound/whatever sound with every unit? i.e. with an archer, you hear the bow shoot, and if it is a hit, then you hear a grunt.

The reason for the question is ....not every unit has an attack/hit sound.

self compiled wesnoth 0.4.8 on Mandrake 9.1
sources downloaded on 10/7/03 (I think)



side note:
I beat level 3!!!!!!!!!!! with 1 turn left on the clock.

No, there are only sound effects for a few units.

Sound effects are generally added in at the same time as animations, so units that don't have animations will usually not have sound effects.

Miyo has done a table at http://www.ventu.info/wesnoth/?UnitAnimationsAndSounds which shows the status of sounds and animations for all units. (Table is current as of 0.4.8).

Scenario 3 is certainly the scenario most players find very hard!
