timeline problem (Black-Eye Karun)

Post by eight_eyes »

I have recently come across something in https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Timeline_of_We ... -Eye_Karun that seems to be a mistake. It dates the start of the Son of the Black Eye (campaign) 842 YW. In the scenario 17 Human Attack (it takes place in 843 YW) it is stated by Howgarth III that the peace treaty (between orcs and humans) was taken place 27 years before > in 816 YW then (if I'm correct). (Kapou'e also states that his father is killed 27 years ago either.) https://wiki.wesnoth.org/CampaignDialog ... Intervenes
In the timeline in the website the year of the peace treaty is 826 YW.

This also happens in 01 The End of Peace scenario, where it is written that the peace treaty took place four years after Rahul I becoming Lord Protector (812 YW). https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Black_Eye_stor ... d_Of_Peace
According to the site it's 14 years.

:eng:

Is the timeline on the site wrong? I guess the campaign has priority over the site's timetable. (Also, Karun unites all orcs before the age of 25? That's quite... uh... a nice job.)

Nicely spotted, but are you playing with Wesnoth 1.14.1? There was discussion in https://r.wesnoth.org/t46460 which resulted in the timelines in the campaign being moved by 10 years, and that update first appeared in Wesnoth 1.14.2.

BTW, if you're using a version before 1.14.4 then there's a known security bug, so it's worth updating. https://r.wesnoth.org/t48528

Thanks (for both). I guess it makes sense, although it's a bit vague about when does Karun unite the orcish tribes. (I actually want to design a campaign about the early ages of Karun.)

Again, thanks for the warning - I have updated to 14.4 while writing this.
