I searched my PMs and found the now-forgotten story of Epic of Jalin. It was a campaign of the WoL timeline that, sadly, never even reached its alpha testing state.
Spoiler:
Epic of Jalin:
Jalin is the son of a great lord of the R'tia, who has forged a small empire in the chokelands in the far north(see Elidell's map). His father, Orkris, is betrayed and killed by a former general of his who dies in the process. Orkris's empire is ripped apart, and Jalin flees. Passing through the desert he comes across a colony of dwarves, whom he is forced to eliminate. Morgil, a messenger from the fabled council of the magi, a once in a millenia gathering of all the great magi, regardless of race(like the UN) and he is invited to attend, though he doesn't know why. Arriving in the great city of Karthar, he finds it under siege by forces of undead, including thralls, dangerous magical constructs which are incredibly difficult to create. Escaping into the tunnels where the great mage Maethar works with the aid of the great adventurer Talar, the conclave, the governing body of Karthar, meets to decide how to defend the city. The next day Karthar is stormed by vast armies of dark undead not seen since the days of Mal-Ravanal. He escapes the city, and arrives on the edge of the Lins-Elen. Arriving in Garior, great city of the elves he finds it sacked and burnt. Passing on through the woods he arrives in Methurdil, which he finds under siege from a great dragon, and thousands of troops.
Fighting off the dragon in an epic, 1-on-1 boss scenario in the caves beneath the city, he travels through a desolate countryside to Mhregost. Here he learns of Vaxmos, wielder of the Staff of Delfador and An-Ushrukar. Vaxmos, the mages have learnt has made his abode atop the Hammermounts, tallest of all mountains. From there he seeks the Sword (the dragonheart) and Sceptre (of Elynia-Niryone), the last of the three legendary artifacts. The mages are attacked in Mhregost, and Jalin single-handedly battles the Champion of Vaxmos. Finally, the elves arrive and break the siege after a month. All the mages have already left for their respective kingdoms. Talar returns, and with him is a mysterious stranger, who disappears the next day. Battling across the Shakaar they are forced underground by a vast army of trolls allied with. Here they meet arcanister Gomdurthing, lord of the Dwarves of the Shakaar. Plunging into the depths of the Shaakar they encounter the remains of the Shaxthal whilst battling a Death Lord Karzadel, lieutenant of Vaxmos. Talar is killed by him, Jalin inherits his armor.
Emerging from the mountains, they began to cross the plains beyond. Here they are attacked by steppe orcs, and Aricadel, an elvish sharpshooter who was given to them by the high lord of the elves, is captured. They infiltrate the steppe orc's base and rescue her. They learn a bit about the history of the steppe orcs, and learn that they have been payed by Vaxmos to fight for him. Soon they reach the fields of Anarthiel. Here they encounter a vast enemy force, and they are joined by the elves and dwarves, who are already fighting. The enemy are led by the dragon again. The dragon is killed by Jalin. Reaching the hammermounts, they plunge into the tunnels. there is a dwarvish kingdom here, greatest of all dwarven realms, desperately fighting the armies of Vaxmos. After one or two cave scenarios they face Vaxmos. He reveals himself as a demon-lord, before escaping. Going deeper into mines undisturbed for millenia, they encounter Vaxmos in his final form, eyes blazing with the fire of Uria. A battle ensues, Vaxmos is defeated.
The campaign takes place somewhere in the northeastern part of the Great Continent (which may not agree with the current map). The plot itself is convoluted: there are instances where the writer defies the existing story and timeline (even that of mainline). Those instances should/could by changed.
I'm posting the plot here so that a UMC creator can make the story into a campaign that will fit the WoL timeline .
