Some doubts (reloaded)

Post by perseo »

So, I'm creating some units related to wesnoth post service. But I don't know how you the english call this people that went in horses carrying important letters: couriers? I want this for the first level. But I don't like veteran courier and even more veteran courier for the level 2 and 3 units. I don't know if you see the point. Can you help me with some names?
Other thing, a sire is the male horse you use for breed or I'm completily wrong.
If I have more doubts about this topic I'll post here.
Thanks!

Letter carrier, messenger, postman, envoy (somewhat special)

Sire is the term for the father of a horse. A male horse suitable for breeding is a stallion.

I would suggest the following evolution:
Messenger (L1) -> Courier (L2) -> Herald (L3)

Alternative evolution for diplomatic messengers:
-> Envoy (L2) -> Emissary (L3)

Or if you really want courier to be the level 1, then maybe I'd go with:

Courier (L1) -> Postman (L2) -> Herald (L3)

Yes! I love your second one. So If understand it well You will say "the stalions of the east clans" refering to best horses of Wesnoth?.

Yes.
However, context will be important here. You could use exactly the same phrase as a metaphor to refer to the men of the eastern clans. This will not be a problem unless the surrounding dialog suggests it is possible though.
