Elvish "pupilless" eyes - possible explanations

Kitty: oh, yes. Indeed. But I was just recently watching the portraits from UtBS. Elves were depicted there with normal human-like eyes. And Zhul had green eyes

johndh: this is basically what I have written in the initial post sans polarizing filter in cornea. Good to see that others have similar ideas. I can use this if I ever make something concerning the elves.
