I don't want to be mean, but objectives like "survive" or "escape" just aren't very precise. Whom should go where? All units? Just one? Is an area or a hexmeant? Use more landmarks, tell the players how long they should survive (turns, next day...).

Polish the bugs out. Be a lot more clear about the objectives. It wouldn't hurt to give some indication from where enemies will be coming if you like to just spawn some mid-scenario. Avoid loss of units on the recall list (some from scenario 1 were missing in the later scenarios). Some things could make more sense, like why is there a enemy leader in an almost unreachablecorner of the map who does nothing?LightFighter wrote:6. Just my personal taste: Some of the characters could be nicer to each other.
Not exactly causing more fun but more usability: I know that media files cause big campaign sizes, but 30MB mainly caused be story pictures is a bit too much I think. I guess some compression would help and if you use pictures from mainline, you can also link to these. I know, I would also like to have some more story images but while I like some of yours, not all serve the purpose very well.

looks like campaign bug found.
I have trouble with starting this campaign.
My config:
Xubuntu 11.10 (64bit), BfW 1.9.12
Problem:
Campaign fails to start properly. When I select it, game starts to load and then error message appears before 1st map loads appears.
Error text is:
After a bunch of messages with same error there is finally error appears:
Then map loading aborted and I'm returned to main menu. Am I doing something wrong? I was not able to find where macro AMLA_TOUGH is defined.
My config:

As shadowblack pointed out several posts above, AMLA_TOUGH was an old mainline macro that has been removed. If it is not defined in this add-on, it was probably still in mainline when this campaign was written. If you replace AMLA_TOUGH with AMLA_DEFAULT, it should probably work in the intended manner.

Hmm, probably. But since game entered beta... it looks like a good idea to update campaign on server as well, isn't it?

I'm pretty sure the add-on server will be purged or redirected before 1.10 is released, but the developers are not responsible for add-ons, so the beta phase doesn't mean much here. LightFighter needs to fix this when he can, and he said he would. Not much anyone else can or should do for now.

I also had to add the following lines to 8_Burning_Suns.cfg since REDRAW is not defined anywhere as well:

Let me see:
[censored] objectives.
Enemies spawning with deprecated macros and on bad spots (in several scenarios you place a keep and make enemies spawn there later only to die upon spawning).
Very weak opposition in most of the maps (you got an objective of survival/retreat when it is damn easy to kill everything in sight).
Very bad gold management.
Confusing and nonsense objectives in most of the maps.
You've got some nice ideas, good map designs and a more-or-less okay story, but gameplay wise it is completely broken, needs rewriting on most of the maps.
I played on hardest btw.
