1) Medium, 1.7.0

2) 5. The some of the climatic scenarios were un-climatically easy. Especially the Showdown at Northern Swamp, when I just gave the holy water to Shock Troopers and a Dwarvish Lord. Just stood my ground and slaughtered the undead as they came. "Rescue the King" was also very easy, since all the melee units I had made mincemeat of the Slayers, and my Mages and elves slaughtered the trolls. However, some of the mid-campaign elf vs. orc scenarios were quite challenging, and I think I won a few just by sheer luck.

3) Very clear.

4) Very clear and interesting. There was one glitch in "Portal of Doom". Because I had "killed" the lich, it was not able to contribute its half of the dialogue when Delfador closed the portal. It was very strange to see Delfador talking with someone who we couldn't see. Maybe change it so that if the lich "dies", its "spirit" talks to Delfador.

5) Surviving the last half of the campaign with consistent negative gold. The turn limits were always so tight I could never get a substantial early finish bonus, the high-level troops necessary to win also drained a lot, and the villages were few and far apart. (At least from MY keeps)

6) Very fun. I enjoyed it a lot.

7) It's pretty good as is, but I might suggest adding more villages.

8) I didn't catch any.

Hi guys,

I cant seem to find this add on campaign in the add on list.Any idea why?

This campaign is now a mainline campaign, so it should come with the game and no longer has to be downloaded from the add-on server.
Mainline Maintainer: AOI, DM, NR, TB and THoT.
UMC Maintainer: Forward They Cried, A Few Logs, A Few More Logs, Start of the War, and Battle Against Time

My version of wesnoth is 1.6.1.How do I upgrade to the latest version without uninstalling and reinstalling?thx!

There is no quick way to get around it, you would have to uninstall the previous version and reinstall the new. That is a moot point though, as Delfador's Memoirs is available on the 1.7 branch and not 1.6.

No, you should still be able to use the saves as your userdata will remain in the same spot, if you are talking about updating to 1.6.4.

For 1.7, you will not be able to use the same saves, no.

on 1.7.2 the game exits without warning when after scenario 16 when it is trying to load scenario 17. i would include the error from the stderr file but my system search could not find it. running ubuntu jaunty jackalope.

The output isn't stored in a file, except you request that.

Just start wesnoth on the commandline (in the kde program "konsole" for example or the "gnome-terminal") by just typing wesnoth and pressing return.
Output will be printed in the window.

i tried to get it via command line. even though wesnoth started no problem, when the game crashed it took the gnome terminal with it. i didn't get a chance to view any messages output by it.

Edit: i went over to the family computer running windows vista and installed wesnoth 1.7.2 on it and then copied all my saves over from my desktop running ubuntu 9.04 to the proper directory, and the game continued to the next scenario. but there was a problem. my recall list is unavailable to me, and delfador (who i had gotten to his level 4 form) regressed to his level 1 form. here is the message from the stderr.txt file from the windows install.:

EDITED EDIT: Fabi i restarted the campaign from the beginning on the windows version of wesnoth and fix the problem with the game crashing after scenario 16 when it tried to goto scenario 17. all you need to do is change the prestart event in scenario 16 into a start event. then the game doesn't crash. but the problem with Delfador regressing from level 4 to level 1 still exists. any idea on how i can fix this temporarily so that i can continue without having to relevel him?

EDIT Again: never mind about the "fix i said previously. it must of been a fluke when it worked because it stopped working. to continue i used debug mode in the "Save the King" scenario to skip to "17_a_new_ally". by doing this delfador retained his level, but i cannot access my veterans.

EDIT number 4: in scenario 19 on turn 2 when iliah-malal goes to enshroud the field. nothing happens.

This is a wesnoth bug that was already reported and iirc is also already fixed in trunk.

(1) default and 1.7.2
(2) 5
(3) Crystal.
(4) The story is good and is a nice prequel to httt. This fact is mentioned twice at the end and I think the first mention could be removed.
(5) No major challenges. The list of available units to recall was a bit wierd at some points though (eg. why can't I have my ghost army until the final scenario?).
(6) 9
(7) Maybe some more queen related content. Currently there is no direct confrontation.
(8) I don't think so. :)
