first.. when i saw the addon list from the game it showed different types of addons
campaigns, MP campaign, MP era, MP factions, MP map-pack, MP scenerio, other, resources, scenerio etc
plz tell me their meanings and differences in details

second, the multiplayer window shows green coloured, red , white and grayed-out games
what do they mean?

If you know that MP stands for Multiplayer, a lot of it is pretty clear.

campaigns - Single-player campaigns.
MP campaign - Multiplayer campaigns
MP era - an era (set of factions) for multiplayer
MP factions - a single faction to add to some era, again for multiplayer
MP map-pack - a set of maps for multiplayer
MP scenerio - a set scenario for multiplayer
Scenario - basically a single set map for multiplayer
resources - files and junk for developers to make things.

campaign: Single player, collection of many scenarios; such as the built-in campaigns
MP campaign: Also a campaign, but can be played online (in most cases in a co-op mode)
MP era: Collection of different units and factions, can be used for online play on standard maps
MP factions: Single factions, could be included in eras
MP map-pack: Collection of maps for online play
MP scenario: Single multiplayer map. If an add-on includes more than one, it's called map pack.
Resources: This is mainly for add-on authors, they are collections of either useful fragments, sounds, music, or art
others: Well, anything not fitting into these categories.

and suppose someone makes a match using a downloaded map or map-pack in online multiplayer , do other players need to have the map downloaded in their game to be able to join and play his match?

Yes, there are some DNS problems today. It'll hopefully work again tomorrow.
MP eras can be both, collections of units (with a special composition) or own units (have a look at e.g. Era of Magic or Era of Four Moons).
Regarding the map, they do not need it as long as it doesn't use special terrain.
