Well, let's say the AI had general parameters like these and could be very proficient in certain situations (or very proficient at all), I guess these settings could be default-tuned for the best possible general AI, but could be tweaked via WML by scenario authors to 1) tweak difficulty levels and 2) be able to have the best possible AI for most any SP scenario.

Then again, the developers are not dumbs and I'm sure what I'm saying is not a fresh new idea for them.
