DID - A Small Favor - Defeated?

Post by Einherjar »

Hi all.

I started playing Descent Into Darkness today, but on the mission "A Small Favor", something strange happened:

What is this? I tried restarting several times, but I'm declared defeated every time. The only thing I can think of is that I've lost by using too many turns. If so, why didn't the scenario description state that there was a turn limit?

There is a turn limit. There are several scenarios in DiD where there is a time limit but it isn't mentioned in the objectives.

As a workaround, beat it in less than 26 turns.

If anyone wants to add

Code: Select all

            [objective]
                description=_ "Time runs out"
                condition=lose
            [/objective]
to scenarios 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9, that would fix it.

Ah, that explains it. Thanks for clearing up, lotsofphil. :)

As you said, would've been nice if this was fixed.

Patch submitted. Keep an eye on your turns in the next couple of scenarios, too.

Yeah, in most campaign scenarios you need to look at that number by the flag, regardless of what objectives say. "--/26" in the screenshot shows you have 26 turns, for instance.

P.S. Using Fedora? Cool. :)

A good point. Some scenarios have turn limits implemented to make sure that the player does not stick around and milk gold or experience from the scenario.

Well that makes sense. I just never noticed the green flag on the top bar.

Ah, but it's right next to the all important gold box. ;)
