Can you recruit loyal units?

Post by xgi »

I've noticed loyal units in the "recall bin" but I don't know where they came from.

I know that some (like the thieves in the battle for Elensefar) come into play, but I've noticed some units I don't remember being "given," such as an Elvish archer in the Heir to the Throne campaign.

Did I miss something, or did the computer randomly give me a loyal unit?

They're from Crossroads. Archer and Fighter.

Specifically, unless its changed:

You receive one loyal horseman on the second level. If you kill the enemy leader on hard, you receive a loyal knight. (FLIPPING HARD TO DO)

You receive one loyal mage on the third level. Personally my all-time favorite HttT unit, lol. Elrian is my hero. I used to use him as a great mage but I've found putting him as a silver mage works flipping wonders.

You get 2 loyal thiefs and a loyal rogue on Siege of Elensefar.

You get 1 loyal fighter and 1 loyal archer on Crossroads.

My memory fails me after that as to other loyal units, there MAY be a dwarf, but I do not recall.

There are a bunch of loyal mermen (one mermaid, one or two spear-throwers, the rest fighters) from Bay of pearls. Only of limited use in the no-water-scenarios, though, but crucial in some later scenarios (but you don't neccecarily need loyal ones there).

There seems to be...Delurin, Moremirnu, Uncle Somf, Ulfdain (not loyal due to a WML bug), Warven and Eonihar.

Duh, Moremirmu, I always take the pansy way out <.<

EDIT: And DUH At the mermen, lmao.

I <3 those mermen. I've found uncanny uses for them <.<

3 thieves and rouge, if you select the option with reinforcement.

He was supposed to be loyal? But his cfg says: upkeep=1.
