Drake balancing questions

Post by Lone_Isle »

Not sure if this is the right forum to ask these things but..

1. Was it intentional that Drake Flares should die to Horsemen with the strong trait that gets lucky?

54hp, strong horseman does 27 per hit at day.

2. What is the rationale behind the new saurians lowered resistances to cold and blade(im just taking issue with those 2)

I am not a Drake master or anything but...
why would a Flare be fighting a Horseman in the first place.

don't forget that the horse has to be strong, and it has to be day. Oh, and the flare has to be your leader, or quick, or otherwise below average hp for a flare...

Its all part of our secret master plan! Maybe we can tag one hp on.

Because they got serious increases in their pierce res (vs pikemen)
I suspect having one foot in the past is the best way to understand the present.

They got extra HP at the same time their resistances were lowered, which pretty much counteracts the drop in resistance. I don't know the specific rationale behind going this particular route, but on the whole they are generally more survivable than before even against these attack types; it wasn't exactly a nerf.

That's the balancing reason. What's the BS that explains the resists, though?

Draft BS reason:
They're long and slender, with really slick scales. Easy to slash and cut apart, but hard to poke on target and if even hit the slick scales parry them pointy sticks.
Take a breath.

I always figured that their hides are leathery, and leather tends to be weak to blade/impact but strong vs pierce. Vis the Javelineer and Swordsman (Pikeman? What? La la la I can't hear you).
