for some reason I like 4 better...but I can't tell what's different...maybe it's due to sleepiness.

I like the top one better (#4). The extra frame makes the swing go a bit slower, its just a little easier on the eyes.

AFAIK you can have as much frames as you want and you define how long each one is displayed. So if you go for a smooth 6 frame animation you're just raising the bar for other animations a little. You've got a rather complex attack here, so a rather complex animation makes sense.

Alright, thanks for informing me. Yeah I think it needed enough frames to show how they actually attacked. I will worry about directional attacks in a later stage when I have the rest done. It should be a quick job and they would be playable before that.

Here's the finished version of the nailers. They turned out alot better with the suggestions. Thanks everyone :)

What on earth for? It doesn't make any sense, isn't funny, and there is no need to make it any more "bloody".

Don't forget to show us what the death animation looks like....

hehe I thought about having an alternate animation each time they miss: hit the one hopping forth in the head or something but it seems like alot of unecessary work and I am finishing the other units now.

Here is the death animated. I don't know how they work yet so there might be 1 extra frame in the beginning I might need.
Right now it's ment to go after the defend image.

I think that the hammer should start falling on it's side on the third frame, or not fall on the side at all. Right now it fall a little too fast.

I agree, it falls just a little too fast. Great otherwise, though.
