Post by Mik3art »

This is the result
Image

Potrait
I divide the work in 6 fase.
1 Make a render from photo
2 Desaturate the photo
3 I use the Posterize Filter end set the level on 6/10
4 Painting on the result until to arrive at the programmed result
5 Coloring the Grayscale result with Level Fusion "Color"
6 Color Balance and Brightness/Contrast (In color Balance i sett little bit the Light on yellow and shadow little bit on blu)
Image

Pixel art
1 I look for a character on the Internet that resembles my character in the shape.
2 i Change the tonality in the color of the Charater Potrait
3 Paint the detail
4 Posterize pixel art at level 16

To lighten the pixel art further i use Grafx2, i decrese the color palette in 16 color

I like the style of portrait, and you seem to know what you are doing, but this is too terse and therefore not a tutorial per se.

You should write in the language you speak best then allow someone else to translate. That way you could write a detailed tutorial.

Again: I do like what you did with the portrait!

Personally, I would recommend that you consider this workflow:
  1. select photograph or other image for base of portrait
  2. apply changes and filters to portrait
  3. either
    • choose a sprite which resembles the pose and garb of the portrait and change it to resemble the portrait better
    • make your own sprite to resemble the final portrait

I see another cool work regarding your cheating portraits.

i dont find that the portait is off with much. except that the portrait has no orbs, wears face paint and has a robe instead of skirt.
the orbs could be added easily, or removed from the sprite. same goes for the face paint.
