Scottiand's Art Thread

Post by scottiand »

Hello! I've decided to start practicing pixel art again, and I thought I might as well make Wesnoth stuff. No plans for a campaign or era at the moment, whatever comes to mind. Feel free to use them for UMCs (But if you do, I'd love it you let me know so I can check it out!).
Anyway, here is my first piece, and a screenshot of it in game. I will accept critiques of any kind, though no guarantees I'll get around to fixing them.

Made some updates to this guy. Made some parts brighter, and did some work on the hair, belt, sword, and cape.

Brand new alchemist/mage! Thinking of adding a team-colored necklace, but it might get too busy. Also, both sprites pictured in-game.

Thank you! I appreciate the support.
It's been a while, but I have a new unit. Supposed to be a ratfolk gunner. I'm not completely happy with her, especially the top half (the gun, head, and heads) but I can't figure out how to improve at the moment. Would appreciate some feedback or tips.

the female robe wearing human looks very good. I like it.
the other two look good too, but the sword of the one sprite is too straight, maybe give it an angle so it looks more natural.
and the rats pose looks like an attack frame. maybe give it a more neutral pose. it also how no tail which looks a bit weird.

but yes, good work either way.

Thanks for the comments! I see your point about the pose of the ratfolk and the human, I might play around with those sometime, though I've been a bit busy lately. As for the tail, I can't believe I forgot it! Silly mistake, and I have updated the image accordingly:

EDIT: Forgot the shadow too, it turns out! Guess I kinda rushed this one.

On a side note, as far as I see your sprites, the rat and the femal do not wear TC colors. thats maybe that should be added at some point too.

I think the rat's tunic has the TC colors. Maybe?

Could add a little hat to it for the TC colors though.

Been a while since I've posted here! I've been working on pixel art stuff for other purposes, but its fantasy and a similar image size, so I thought I'd post them here in so someone could use them for UMC if they wanted. Critiques still welcome, I'm always trying to improve!
