ForestDragon wrote: July 3rd, 2018, 6:38 pm The portraits looks fairly good, actually. I'd probably suggest removing the hood, though. It would also be a good idea to align the hand with the rest of the arm, as it currently seems to weirdly "branch" from the arm.
thanks, but I started off with a good one. there are worse to come. I tried it un-hooded but It didn worked quite well for me. about the arm, it looks off because the shaded underpart of the arm is not visible, but if you look closely you see it is fine, it think.

here is the finished line. I simply added a skull to the female adept lv2 portrait, which ofc doesnt look that professional, but it serves the purpose. lv3 uses brown lich from a mainline campaign.

I think the first one is fine besides that some parts are a bit pixelated, the second one's hair is a little, strange...

After a long summer break, I decided to post the rest of my portraits. Keep in mind they all are franken, so some do look ok, some look odd. But everything else better than mine is beyond my portrait-crafting skills. Here is one though which I find very convincing.

I strated from lv2 archer, gave him lich head and horns and equipped him with a staff and the magic from the adept.

basically i took the default lich portrait, gave a blade and then the other portrait received the lichs staff and the blade too.

for the lv4's portrait I used mostly stuff from the ancient lich's portrait as I think it is called.

Here are the portraits of the spear skeletons. I attached the lv2 as well because there wasn't much I have done to the lv1.
who played custom eras might have seen that one.

for the lv1 one all I did was to add the shield. the level two however is a hybrid of the first one and i think the draugr, but i could be wrong about the draugr. I forgot.

I like the first few portraits, but the last two look out of character... The heads don't exactly look like they should be on those bodies.

Well yeah they look different ebcause they were made by two different artists. I am no portrait artist, I only take what I get and combine it somehow.
The Skeleton Portraits were also my first franken portraits, so I hope the other factions went better.

here is the full line with the lv3 banner skeleton. the shield is sill missing though on the back of the lv3.

A common mistake that makes a beginner and does not consider proportions.
The proportions are fundamental when you draw something that really exists.
If you want my advice, study the proportions of the human figure.
On youtube you can see the documentary by Stan Lee and Buscema where they teach the basics of comics.

Personally, I've seen it many times
is a really good start.

hey mik3art,
i watched the video and it seems really insightful, if I only could draw...
unfortunately i cannot draw.
Mik3art wrote: October 14th, 2018, 1:51 pm A common mistake that makes a beginner and does not consider proportions.
as mentioned many times these portraits are all mostly frankens, it means i have taken things from other portraits to make the fid and hence create new portraits. I also have to admit that most of them are sloppy in comparison to my more recent ones, and back at the time I did not knew how to smoothen the edges when I encounter anti-aliasing problems.

EDIT: now that i think of it, i am not sure where there are proportional issues. the arms from the skeleton spear are off, yes, but other then that i see no other proportional issues. could you elaborate this some more?

furthermore, the solely reason why i am posting these is that for some reason, in the playable version, these portrait don show up. so i am showcasing them here.

your thoughts are still appreciate and your welcome to give me more feedback if you feel like.

thanks for your offer but these factions are a closed topic and i think no one should work more on their artwork. I messaged you on a different topic however.

as for the remaining portraits, here is the corpse fighter line.
