-Falcon's art
Hello.
Today I worked up the courage to make some good art. So enjoy!
Criticism is welcome.

Re: -Falcon's art
Nice i like the slinger he looks really good. That could be the lvl 0 unit that advances to the foot pad!
The crystalline gunner looks good but i think it needs more detail and shadow on the surface in order to fit in with other wesnoth units.

Re: -Falcon's art
There's two things that stand out about your crystallite gunner. First off, it is facing directly south, which is weird because practically all units face SE rather than S. Second, the legs are drawn in perspective while the central body is seen from a top-down perspective instead: as a result it looks as if the gunner's body is tilted forwards and so the cannon aims somewhere in between its front feet!
Also, the sling-peasant looks to have a missing pixel on the outline of his hand, which makes it so that he's pointing to the floor. Otherwise it's good.
Hope I helped!

Crucis_Deus: It's facing S, I'll make the SE sprite soon.
The_Gnat: Expect that next week.

I hope this is good enough.Crucis_Deus wrote:There's two things that stand out about your crystallite gunner. Yes that is much better! I like the shading and rounded edges you have given it!-Falcon wrote:I hope this is good enough.

Re: -Falcon's art
I've got two things to say:
First, which one is better?
Second, I'm thinking of making a advancement tree for the peasant slinger so it can upgrade into a unit other than the footpad. Here it is:
Peasant slinger
|
|
Slinger ---------> Velite
|
|
Elite Slinger
The only problem is that I'm thinking the naming is wrong , but I'm not sure so please suggest new names.

Re: -Falcon's art
Since nobody has chose yet I'll just choose the bottom one.
Here is the updated version with shadow and transparency.

Re: -Falcon's art
looks good now! (the second version is better than the first in my opinion). btw, keep in mind that most bfw sprites are southeast-facing, so you might have to redo crystalline gunner's shape.

This is the S facing sprite, I'll make a SE one soon.
