Age of machines era - Art.

Post by Mechanical »

Hi! I recently started working on Age of Machines. This will be the era of the MP that transports Wesnoth race in the distant future, in the cyberpunk style. In this topic, I will spread sprites units drawn for the era.

The first fraction - demolishers. This is the future of the orcs, making emphasis on melee combat, and the amount of resistance. At the moment, drawn sprite 4:
1. Assault.
2. Red infantryman.
3. Red Titan.
4. Shooter (another variant of pumping).

All the sprites will be refined in real time, so if you have something to offer or advise - do not hesitate.

They all look cool :D
Not very active on the forum anymore, but I still read it, and I also still play Wesnoth and draw a bit.

Nice job on the tanks! The claws(?) on the bottom one could use a little more attention, but in general, the tanks have unique shading & design and look like nice, original assets for your project.
BfW 1.12 supported, but active development only for BfW 1.13/1.14: Bad Moon Rising | Trinity | Archaic Era |

Nice, I might want to use one of them in a future update of Strange Legacy. For now I will stick to the ageless empire mechanic factions.
The future belongs to those, who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

I love them.

I'm especially impressed with how you did the metallic shading.
One small point though:
I know about tile size and how you have to fit images on to a standard template... :| but it just looks unfortunate that the tanks are a different scale to the infantry. I mean even if the tanks were crewed by Goblins, it wouldn't work, you could only fit 1 midget contortionist Goblin in each. I'm not criticising you, 'coz that's how Wesnoth works, you have ships the same size as spearmen, etc. But I do find it unfortunate because the images you have drawn are in my opinion brilliant and that little thing nags at me :augh: maybe it would be different if I saw them ingame.
anyway, very good job!
...apparenly we can't go with it or something.

It can be realated. Anycase, that is the joke that only Russians can understand, because its from popular Russian cartoon movie, but it is translated to English, so you can appreciate it too:
