Alternatively, just for fun, I stuck konrads head ontop of the Supreme Commander's body:

(personally though I am leaning toward the previous sprite I posted, it looks more in the advancement line)

I like the bow and the cape. I was thinking about making the cape bigger but I forgot :lol:
I've made two more sprites, one with and one without a sword in hand.

Also the shoulder pads are from the supreme commander sprite, and the armor (chest and boots) is from the royal warrior.
Gold is great!

That is really good! I think that is the right idea but I would prefer the sword above the shield. And also perhaps the shield should be moved like 3px to the left, he seems to be holding it too closely.

EDIT: obviously the problem disappeared since the bottom part is now covered by the shield

from far this sprite looks like konrad wearing his sword on his back where as the sward has a rounded grip.
by zooming in i saw its actually the top part of the bow.

the illusion is created by having the top part and bottom part from 2 different bows.
according to that, lewis sprites he based on your edited ones have the same problem

here in this version u can cleary see that the bow bottom part fits the top part and there is no such illusion any more.
but maybe its just me...

he looks tanky but i think its the best version sofar. i like it alot.

i corrected the bow since it got mixed up with his hair too much.

Yeah, I think the bow blended in with his hair a little. Now it looks bigger and stronger, I'm glad you picked up on this. I would agree it's the best sprite so far.

once the steam release is there, i am looking forward to play these in the mainline campaigns once gnats mod is ported to 1.14.x

so this is the lv 4 or lv 5?

EDIT: i see its for level 5
the reason why i ask because the change from lv3 to lv 4 is not much, not sure if its worthy the xp.
the lv 5 now resemblance more to the lv4 Grandmarshal

Yes that new version is quite good! It is the lvl 5 currently. But you are right the level 4 is not as big as the Grand Marshal. I will leave the level 4 as a placeholder now but in the future perhaps the level 5 will become the level 4 and a new level 5 will be drawn that is larger.

i tried to fix that and i think i was succsefull in making the transition more clear
i am considering to add the lv5 sword to the lv4 sprite, just shorter

EDIT: i just realised the shoulder pads are oddly close to his face in the lv4 sprite. might fix that aswell

I see your point in the fact that there isn't must difference between the level 3 and 4, but I've added a smaller shield and this is what is turned out to be...

so i fixed the shoulder pads . for some reason it had 2px dark outline on the left side.
his face looks much more open.

thanks. since this is a mainline hero, maybe TC looks a bit "unused" not to say weird on konrad. TC was only added when he and Lisar were added in random MP factions.

Refering to the lv5

EDIT: or maybe i am wrong. maybe they all have TC. shouldn konrads cape be TC too? i see lv3 lisar has no TC either, or did you took the from the database? where all units have 1st player TC red?

I feel like most of if not all of the other sprite is finished (other than animation), I've had a crack at the level 5 battle princess (Lisar) and this is what I've come up with so far...

I feel like the helmet suits her, but in some way doesn't...
It's not finished, but I was thinking that there could be a second sword in her right hand. Most likely a different type of sword like a saber or something. Remember this is not the finished product of this unit, it will most likely go through many changes...
