lvl5 ranger looks amazing! grand admiral is a bit too similar to normal adrimal, though. add some more details. maybe a bit of armor on the tail?

Here are two new better versions of the grand admiral. One has a extra spear, which do you think is better?

Looks good! If you wanted to get fancy you could use some sort of tool to dampen the highlights on her face and put them somewhere else, or fill in the neck a bit; IMHO it looks just a bit flat. Not sure exactly, but I think maybe darkening the left (your view) half of her neck a bit might help, and possibly (just possibly; I don't know how it will look with extra shadows) lighten the front. Hmm... does the light shine at an angle that will reach her neck?

Anyhow, it is already quite decent without any extra tweaks, especially for a frankenstein.

Looks a lot better than the first attempt, I still think that the head is too small for the body though.

What other than the sword has been frankensteined?
From what I've seen of Vyncyn's stuff, it's pretty good, but this one looks almost as if he's eating his left shoulder pad...
It's subtle, so it could just be me. The more obvious disconnect though is the sword; I think he's holding it a bit close to the cross-tree. And it seems perhaps one, maybe two pixels too far to the left... not that there's anything wrong with holding a sword close to the cross-tree; it just looks a bit cut off.

hmm... Looking at the sprite again, I get the impression it is falling out of his hand. Or is he just holding it loosely/at an angle? I can't really make up my mind about that one... It may be due in part to my weary brain that I can't. Sometimes it looks just fine, sometimes it doesn't.

Hopefully they can both be fixed fairly easily. Maybe a slight adjustment of the sword, and some obscure pixel-artsy technique to make the border between his mask and shoulder pad more visible. Working with blacks can be a pain... I'm glad it's not me :D

Apart from that, the sprite looks awesome!

(Ooh, perhaps you can TC the gold trim? Not sure how that would look though..)

Anyhow, I've spent way more words than was necessary to say what I did. I apologize if I sounded mostly negative. Some exclamation marks to counter it: Keep up the good work! I admire what you are doing and the effort you are putting into it!

@ Vulpine - thank you for the comments, i agree with both things you have said the sword does look out of place and the mask-shoulder-connection is a bit indistinct. i will see if i can change that!

Here is another attempt at the woman: (it has a slightly larger head and a darker skin tone)
