Nice! Now where on earth (or Irdya) did you get that blade? 8)

The red wings do seem a bit off. Maybe if you de-saturate them just a bit? Hmm.. Come to think of it, I'm not really sure what's bugging me.

For too long the dwarves have been limited to axes and hammers. Now they too wield the deadly ranged weapon arbalests often known as crossbows by human kind.

Here is a lower level arbalestier:

I looked for a while but was unable to find a good portrait of a undead rider so now a portrait of an undead soldier riding a horse (with a bane sword). I hereby have done what none i know of have ever undertaken to do:

These are well put together. Congrats on another set of portraits well done!

Ah, actually, there is a bit of something inside the skeleton rider's left elbow. I think when you moved his arm you had part of the axe outline selected. But other than that, it's... dare I say impossible? to tell that these are frankensteins!

Things you've been making so far look great! :) I think the undead rider's portrait's horse should be paler, since it's a bit weird for an undead to be riding a living horse

More sprites:

(note that i am currently working on lvl4 and lvl5 sprites so if any of them do not look awesome enough to be high level then please tell me!)

(also note that i have the gimp xcf files with all the various layers for almost every sprite and portrait i draw so if you want to make a modification please ask, it is much easier with the xcf file!)

Whoah... and I mean Whoa!

2 things: (alright, three, but the third is shadow advice) the light-rider's right knee has an odd black spot jutting out. Not sure if that is intentional. The other thing: The Destrier's right head doesn't pop out as much, and it almost looks like it's being held by its rider. I'm really not sure what can be done about that though.

For your shadows, I just pick the pencil tool and set it to 60% opacity, select the eraser tool and check the "hard edge" option, and erase the too-dark pixels and replace them with the pencil. It works for me :eng:
Of course if you want to go back to editing the sprite, you'll want to remember to set your pencil back to 100% opacity.

@ Vulpine - thank you again for your feedback. The advice about the shadows is good and i will remember that for later sprites i edit!

I have modified the two sprites you mentioned and here are pictures of a new unit the Elvish High King:

Most had probably assumed i had given up on that thief modification... but they would be wrong

I can not decide however which head is the correct size (or if it should be small, bigger, or in between the two). Perhaps someone can offer some opinions regarding this portrait:

Which head do you think is more close to the correct size? After i get the head the correct size than i will work on small details and the neck.

I think head size between the two would be best.
