Welcome to my art thread.
I very recently decided to start creating sprites and whatnot for addons, after playing Wesnoth for a while.
For now, here are some spacemen. They have glass helmets, but they are hard to see over this website's white background.

I created two sprites for a level 2 version of the ranged spaceman. Let me know which one looks better, the one with two rayguns, or the one with only one.

single weapon version looks better, at dual-wield weapon facing down looks as if its an hook.

Just made the level 2 melee spaceman. Critique is appreciated on this one, as well as on my other sprites.

I am working on a cavalry unit for my spaceman faction, which will be a moon buggy type unit. Unlike other cavalry units, it will focus more on ranged attacks and being more of a tank than other cavalry. The sprite for the L1 unit will take a while.

How are these angles? Does the wheel line up with the buggy? Spaceman for reference. All advice and critique welcome.

Any advice from someone more experienced than I am to tell me whether the angles of the buggy base and the wheel match/line up?

The buggy will take a while. Meanwhile, I just revised my L1 melee spaceman. Any name ideas for the L1 and L2 melee line? I'm thinking of the ranged line be Cadet -> Spacer -> Espatier. The L3 melee spaceman will be called an Astroguard.

Patrolman > Sentinel > Astroguard? A little context could help, are they part of some military force, security personnel, perhaps a scientific expedition?

I myself am still trying to figure out the Spacemens' backstory. It will probably come to me after I work on creating the other factions I have planned, but for now, all I know is that they are mainly both military and scientific. After the Spacemen are finished, I'll either do the Mole People or the Mushroom People (name pending).Addan-Shem wrote:Patrolman > Sentinel > Astroguard? Animated the Patroller's weapon. It's a stun-staff.

Looks great! May I suggest an idle, something like this?
Also, looking forward to the Mole and Mushroom people.
Sparks could be polished much more, of course. Different color, more sporadic/random, flickering, reflecting on the helmet and other shiny parts of the suit... Another improvement could be him moving the weapon in front of him and sparks appearing then, as if he was switching it on briefly to check/show off/intimidate.Also, looking forward to the Mole and Mushroom people.

Alright. I will make an occasional-type animation, similar to how skeletons pop their heads up into the air, but I first want to have a bobbing idle animation.
