hi everyone! so, i fixed some TC issues of the domain protector, and made his arms spread wider:

also, added 2 bonus versions of him: first, the one with slightly melted (or magically bleeding) wings, and another one without them at all.

(Sorry for the delay but shortly after my post Wesnoth just disappeared from the web for a couple days. Routing SNAFU I guess.)

About the helmet: Yes, but I still don't necessarily see it as being metal. Still looks to me like silver hair with a red something on top of the head. I guess it's about the brain choosing "the most likely explanation", and in this case, for me, it's hair.
It's very difficult to convey detail with only a handful of pixels...

Maybe by adding some features (decorations?) making it look more helmet-like? A faint line might be enough, just something which invalidates the "it's just hair" explanation and makes you go "that can't be hair, oh, probably a helmet".
Or (but that might be just me again), if you make the red crest thingy the same silver color as the helmet? I don't know, but I think that might help. (Of course, disregard if having a colored crest is important.)

You might want to re-check the anatomy of that hand in the portrait...

i know that. i just copy-pasted the hand from sorceress, so it's not really expected to fit

:? The way I see it is that the hand should be the other way round, palm down. It looks like she's broken her wrist or something ATM. If you change the shading on the arm, that might fix the problem.

The fit is not the biggest problem--you put a left hand on the right side.

Try to hold your right hand out like that with your palm up and the little finger on the outside, away from your body. (Really. Try it.) Then you will understand what people are saying. I don't know what you changed between the two pictures, but no amount of shading is going to make it look right. You will at least have to redo the linework to reverse the order of the fingers and draw a thumb on the outside.

thanks for the detailed critique. Yeah, this was caused by the fact that i copied the sorceress's left arm to the faerie's right arm. Will fix that

Giving her a thumb would be a good start. As it is, she simply doesn't have one.
