No program rotates pixel art properly. You are going to have to draw it at the new angle. You can use GIMP to help though. Just use rotate with "interpolation:none", and it will leave the image as pixel art. Some of the resulting image will be usable, but not all.

about the trident, it's because the rotating function in gimp often messes up pixel art
You can actually rotate pixel art, but only in 90, 180 and 270 degrees. Else you'll have to redraw it.

Before rotation, resize the source image times 2, and after rotation scale it back. That will improve quality of the rotated image due to Nyquist–Shannon theorem.

Interpolation can be used, but don't forget to quantify back to the original palette. There are also various pixelart scaling algorithms and http://waifu2x.udp.jp sometimes gives nice results too.

ok, so after a long break from art, i decided to return for a bit, so, in celebration of the fact that IftU is being updated again, i decided to make an advancement for a cutscene unit, and an advancefrom from a fallen faerie from it's sequel, AtS, i have problems with making them different, so please help me with that:

It's nice how you changed the position of the spear, it is a good first step. Maybe add a helmet, or make the spear larger.

well, once again, ideas welcome, btw, his look needs to be balanced between a heavy infantry-like sort, and a somewhat elegant male dark faerie (he has cold/arcane ranged) if i should go more around the light-infantry-faerie sort, then i can work around a no-shield baseframe (since i am sort of unsure if a shield fit him), like this:

Sorry, yes the portrait. The file is called initiate.png. Do you use GIMP to create your art? I want to adjust the Elvish shaman a bit.

You are trying to do the animation quickly and easily, but you really can't. It takes hours to do a good animation. There is no way that guy could move only his arm while swinging that mace. He would have to put his whole body into it. You should read https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Basic_Animation_Tutorial. Pay attention to "Moving only the active element" because your animation looks a lot like the first image in that section, which is marked "Wrong:". (Also, I had to make a .GIF to see the animation. Next time, post a .GIF so your readers don't each have to make one.)

well, thanks, here is a tweak of his third attack sprite (the old ones's arm looked like it wasn't attached to the body, but levitating or something :lol: , also, i rotated the new one a bit (once again, thanks to ChaosRider)):
