They look a little pillow shaded, and are quite similar, but the spear is really good and I like the level 3's armoured kilt thing.

The pikemans(or whatever you call them) should have higher contrast. As you definitely know, the shadows are wrong and If I were you, I would also try to do something with the shoes. However your spear and the armor looks cool.

Thanks for help. You are right - I pretty screwed up the shading. A quick fix for one of the units, just to check is it good now:

Btw, meanwhile I made some sort of a snake with cheap anim:
Too lazy to make a good animation. Propably will stay without any for a long time.

The new spearman is a lot better. I love the snake, it's very unique. I can imagine it lashing out and biting a spearman's throat out.

Hahah, I can imagine it too. :D It's cool to know you like it.
Anyway, I made some leader-like unit. Wanted it to be a custom unit for one of main characters of a campaign, but it looks to much like a generic pikeman so he'll be propably an alternative advancement.
Forgot to make a female variation. I'll do it later.

His left arm is quite hard to see, at least against the gray forum background I'm using (which is fairly simmilar to cave terrain and dwarf castles), so you might want to beef it up and give it a stronger outline. Other than that, looking good, and I like the pose.

Maybe you could add a bit of randomness to the floor texture? Like small cracks or dirt.

Hmm... Yes, it would look better. I'll try to do something with it later.

Not sure why, but that terrain looks more gamey than the actual game's terrain. It could be the perfectness of it, which you are going to try to do according to your last post, or it might be the lighting.

Love the snake.

For terrain, suggest desaturating it, remember that heavy saturation tends to come to the foreground, I think that against that background many units would look 'flat' and 'stuck on'.
...apparenly we can't go with it or something.

I made this terrain just to practice how to do it, so I'm not going to improve it soon. Thanks for the feedback btw.

I didn't drew anything for a pretty long time, so I come back with this:
