So I made a fanart at all, and my friends wanted me to upload it here ^^ They said it's very good and it could become a new portrait art, after coloring ^^ I don't think so but they forced me xD
this is a picture of a spectre ^^

It's a nice portrait, however, the Spectre has one already.

I actually like it better; the general appearance of the spirit line portraits annoys me a little since I don't think they should be quite so... how do I put this... "ugly" isn't what I'm looking for but I guess it'll do. Making the regular undead "ugly" makes sense, but the spirits (in my opinion) should look a bit nicer than the rest of the undead. (EDIT: This does apply to the wraith/spectre a bit more than to the shadow/nightgaunt, I think.)

Maybe that's just me.

I agree...with some coloring, I'd probably like your portrait better(maybe a little adjustment to the helmet..it looks ...squished?).
Also, your portrait has the Spectre actually holding theaxe(edit: scythe)....the mainline one looks like it's strapped to his back for some random reason.

I might try coloring it...but I suck at art...so...

There are some good points; Still, inking style is incompatible with Wesnoth, and metal(?) parts look like plastic.
That is to say, I prefer this design than "cheap" gloweyes-skull-with-vampire-fangs spectre. Honestly, it is supposed to be mysterious spirit, or Halloween decoration? Scariest are the things we can't see, that's why ghost line sprites mostly feature empty dark hoods. If it has eyes- you can relate to it. With this one, no such luck.
That is to say, it would make good campaign hero portrait. Also, I don't think it needs more colours - it's actually better that way, since it looks more "faded away" - less alive.

Well, I think colors for the weapon, but otherwise I agree.
Sorta on a break from the forums ATM, have been for a while. If I was doing something for/with you and I haven't recently, that's why, I will be back soon hopefully.

I think your portrait is good, put just personally, it could be improved perhaps by making the armor rusty or dented and the rest tattered - general wear and distress.

as for the other comments on this thread, I won't really respond for fear people will think I'm attacking them. I Like that Wesnoth is cute and kidz friendly, but...
...apparenly we can't go with it or something.

 Not that it needs to be said, but replacing the current spectre portrait is definitely out of the question.

Welcome to the forums!

Quality art is never a bad thing.

Keep drawing! We love fan art, and perhaps UMC authors may even use some of it.
