The War of Terrador - Complete overhaul time!

Alright everyone, let's get to work.

Project One: Get the new race coded and created (Me)

Project Two: Overhaul time on the following:

All units, not just Terradorians, should have team color somewhere, thanks to TWoT's support for Multiplayer now.

Terradorians
Terrador's Finest (Telaron)
Shotgunner
Captain
Commander
Fleet Commander
Recruit
Possible new unit after Heavy Weapons Specialist
Tanks need an overhaul; they where not originally planned as permanent sprites
All units need attack animations; priority targets are to replace the attack animations that are using old, outdated sprites
Ships are alright, might be seeing a few in the future. Attack animations would be nice, but are not needed.
Flagship needs a TOTAL overhaul. Was done by frankenstining ships together to make a massive gunship. Hell, it isn't even straight!
Recruit Animation (After reviewing everything, I am thinking Major's whirlwind that he made for the undead would be the best style for the recruit animation; if there is any way to make it look more scifi-like and white/transparent we would be set)


Zederians
We need stationary defenses for the Zederians, this requires entire new sprites.
Zederian Tanks need an overhaul. They are very poorly done, and were not expected as permanent sprites, like the Terradorian tanks
Zederian ship are alright, save for the Flagship, which needs an overhaul
Might see new ships coming in soon- the Zederian air force has been lacking compared to the Terradorian fleet choices.
Need Toxin Mutant completed, the two legs stance was interesting and a personal favorite


Xylash
The Xylash need to look the same, which means total new sprites for the following units:
Scout
Infector
Drone
Devourer
Consumer
Brute
Behemoth
Grub, Hivelord, Omega (These three need to be something similar to an Overmind-type unit from Starcraft. Needs legs though, it still has the power to move on its own of course.)
Also, the Xylash airforce is lacking immensely. Anyone know how to make organic ships? Like the Zerg's from Starcraft?

Birilaz Conglomerate
These units appear fine and should hold out. After I finish coding I will tell of any needs such as missing units.

Portraits
Courtesy of SFault, we shall have some awesome portraits to use for the campaigns. SFault, for now, we need to work on the campaigns we already have, and as the Xylash will (hopefully) be getting a makeover soon, the terradorians should be the first project portrait-wise. Attached is the soldier tree, excluding all aircraft and mechanical units.

Terrain
Currently, we are in need of someone to make a few types of terrain that are not found anywhere I can find. this includes:
Metal Walls
Metal Platforms (Space Station wise)
Crashed Ships (Lowest Priority, just something I need for a campaign)
Biodome (Need this desperately for terraforming planets)
MOAR VARIETIES OF GROUND. (We currently only have moon ground, we need more varitey than that. Maybe even some red dirt or etc.)

Alright, people, I know this is a lot, but if we can get all this going, we will have that much more of a polished addon.

It didn't really look like this guy had armor since he has blue skin and a blue chest, so I just drew him without armor. :roll:

About the "Phase-in" recruit: I have to say, i have no experience with this sort of thing. I know artisticdude did something like this once with a mage. Maybe he could help. :P

Just for future reference, before posting them here, please remove the color pallette. Less work for me. :P

Also, the Zederian 3rd class have no armor. they are the new recruits that haven't been graced with their own yet.

Makes sense. :) That '3rd' just confused me. (Must have been confusing it with unit lvls.)

EDIT: Here's the AT Warrior's attack. I revamped it a bit.

Here's the finished version. Though, the shadow may not be transparent. Tell me if it isn't. :wink: Speed may also be a problem here. :hmm:

Speed isn't important, that can be modified in the unit's .cfg file. I'm seeing some flickering around his legs, as though semi-transparent pixels were disappearing and reappearing at random... you might want to take a look at that. Also, he appears to be attacking straight to the east, whereas in-game he will be attacking south-east. Perhaps you could add just a bit of movement to his off-arm or head, as currently he looks rather static. You don't need nearly as much body movement in this kind of animation as you would in, say, a swordsman's attack animation, but you cannot preform any motion like the one in the animation without at least a little movement in another part of the body to balance your body's new position. And I've said this before... dark outlines everywhere are bad. Use lighter outlines on the highlighted parts of his body. Oh yes, and one final note: the shadow remains static throughout the entire animation.

Well, that'll take a while yet to do...

I decided i might as well stick with the old metal arm. Here's the base frame of the Cyborg. AT Warrior still in production. :)
I might still tinker around with this guy's chest. :roll:

Essentially we only need one facing southeast but eventually we will need more. Work on SOutheast for each one and THEn we caqn go back and make the others.

I recolored the (helmet?) Improved?

Here are two versions of the base frame for the AT Warrior. I used the original hand position from the last attempt in one of them. In the other, he has the same hand position as the Cyborg. (Bit repetitive, but I thought I'd let you choose.) :wink:

I think I will stick with the same a cyborg hand.

Anyways, been working on the recruiting animation. Not 100% liking this so far. I am thinking of completely redoing it and instead making particles coming together to form the person... not sure.

Might I be of assistance. I could draw some cyboorgs and update some old ships. you can have mine from my era to if you'd like. I could also work on the terran if you'd like.

@Drangonchampion, If you don't mind I'm gonna post a my version of the cyborg.

@Telaron, You should animate the entire body instead of animating just the arm. Maybe make him turn to the enemy. It look much more professional. Just trying to help. Feel free to ignore me tho if you wish. Sometimes I can get get carried away with my critiques.

EDIT: Just a small example. It is just a one minute pixle work so it looks terrible, but I hope it's good enough to give you an idea of what I can do.

EDIT: Ah, Dragon Champ. Might I be able to help you with the recruit animation.

EDIT: Removed the terrible one minute drawing, it was beginning to hurt my eyes.
