I decided switching to the smaller weapon was silly, and made the unit look a little silly, especially next to the others.

The hand it better.
I have no idea what that thing on the arclich's staff is though. Its very blurry.

Also the standards blade could use being converted to undead blade colors.

Are you scaling stuff or rotating them in non-90-degrees? It can lead to antialiasied edges which looks blurred.

The extra arms you're seeing are just parts of the stuff he's holding. I see how you see four arms, but I doubt it's supposed too.
Expanding Wesnoth

You are an Arch Mage - You're definitely intelligent, but some people would say you spend too much time inside. The power you have learned, however, is simply unmatched.

it's just an orb.
I'll look into that "undead blade" colors... not sure what you're referring to though.

nope, if I cant get something in a 90 degree turn I use other methods.

Totally not what it's supposed to be, though I see it now too. I must consider.

* Take 3 on the marshal and translated those changes to the standard bearer. I did the color shift on the blade and cleaned up some of the extra stuff on the polearm to get rid of the extra-arm look.
* I also spent some time trying to work on something completely different- but I seem to have gotten in over my head.

The shading on the adept could use some more depth, especially the robe bottom sections.

that's part of what I was referring to regarding "I seem to have gotten in over my head." finding good references online for the proper angle is difficult, and even what I'm doing a mediocre job of using a mouse to translate what I'm seeing in the ref's I do find into pixels... I don't know if this is progress or not;

bouncing between trying to get the adept back into something that looks decent (really, any suggestions there are MORE than welcome...) and doing other nonsense.

this guy was going to have 4 arms (inspired by comments about the other unit), I got his torso extended but it still kept coming out cluttered with extra arms/weapons.
