Ironically, your only critique is something that's native to the village that's in mainline. For someone making frankensteins that's high praise indeed, thank you.
peet wrote:What a great thread. I may just poach some of these sprites for use in my Expanded Undead faction: http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=27778

I definitely would use "hooded death" for my Phantasm.

I also really like the archlich, necrophane, and lich lord, and I will definitely have to work them in somehow.

Thank you.

That sort of faction is exactly the sort of thing a chunk of this is made for. Hopefully they'll be useful, and perhaps I'll turn out some other stuff that will also be useful. Be aware that the death sprites are HUGE for lvl 3 units.

You're making SO MUCH AWESOME, keep it up!!! :D

If you'd animate all the undeads, I'd use EVERY one of them in the add-on I'm making, (joking. I mean, I *would*, but... lol)

I didn't identify the masks as masks until I saw the filename. I would suggest making them more obviously masks - my best suggestion would be to experiment with the size and shading.

The light seeker line is pretty cool.

I was actually really happy with the two higher levels of the seeker line. The lowest one, however, I've always been a little *eh* on, and felt like it was missing something- but I haven't pulled up anything that really did it. Ironically, while that one's always been the seeker of the light I've waffled on names for the two higher levels, different files (including the rough unit wml I was working on for them) are inconsistent between hunter/avenger and student/sage (all "of the light").

Meanwhile, the masks... yeah. I've had those sitting around getting pixels pushed this way and that for a while, but I haven't really found a good way to get them to look like the kind of mostly-featureless masks I've got in my head. That was the closest I'd gotten, and anything I'd tried since then hasn't really moved in a direction that seemed particularly helpful. I might have a couple more ideas to try, but we'll see.

Meanwhile, because it amused me to put them all where it was easy to compare them;

This is my first visit to this thread and I have to say its awesome. I'm developing an era and the factions are predominately evil, One being a cultist group. I may just have to use some of these. Also, I may use the slave aswell, because on of my factions is a group of aliens enslaving a group of humans.

Woot :eng:

EDIT: I downloaded all of em :P

EDIT's EDIT:

I made a franky! Check it out. Its supposed to be an agent that travels through the night [Will have nightstalk]. I am using it for an era i'm developing.

lol.. It will happen. Its just that even in my own thread I haven't posted the unit structure (Which has been going quite smooth I must say). When I post the unit structure I will probably post the art as well.

BTW the ling to the thread is in my sig

putting some action to thought. Some uses might want to dispose with the initial wind-in, but inclusion was easy (for me) and may be usable for other stuff.

woots to major for making cool stuff for mainline (and all us other monkeys to play with).

Reminded of this stuff from the past and figured I'd add links from this thread for completeness. There's a couple places where productive comments could be had, but please don't necro the threads just because.

not bad.
I think however that in the early stages of the spell there sould be more light since the energy looks a little like solid matter then.
But otherwise really great
...apparenly we can't go with it or something.

I can't argue with that, because you're right. One of the reasons I keep playing with frankensteins rather than creating original art is that I haven't quite figured out how to translate the shapes I see in 3D into 2D, let alone miniature 2D. You'll note on earlier pages I was talking about how to do exactly the kind of luminescent effects we're looking at here. The obvious answer is "more bright colors at the core" but it really seems to be more complex than that or I'm just not getting some aspect of how to build it.
