That middle one is clearly a rip-off of artisticdude's master swordsman.

Which is, in turn, a rip off of the mainline swordsman.

Or, as we prefer to less-pejoratively call them, a frankenstein - as are they all. It's how most of us started doing this sort of artwork, and getting into a high dudgeon about it is both hypocritical and unhelpful.

Don't do that.

andreykko: you make a good start, but you need to go further with shading, and try to add some more original touches to your work.

No, you're not. We won't permit the development of content based on copyrighted material on our servers.

You're welcome to do stuff with ninjas. You're not welcome to do stuff with naruto's characters or setting.

A ninja/oriental era would be cool. I am trying to make a campaign in a similar setting.

I've got no problem with that at all (it's GPL anyway). And like tsi said:

:( Ouch. Completely true, but ouch.

Actually, I think there was once an oriental era, I'm not sure if it's around any more though. But I think andreykko's looking for critique on the art, not the faction. On that topic, thespaceinvader has already said all that's really necessary: shading (I don't know why I of all people should be critiquing someone else on this score, since shading isn't my strong point). As for adding original touches, I'd suggest things like changing the color/highlights of various parts of the units to simulate different materials, and perhaps adding a few smaller details such as a belt, shoulder strap, spikes, etc. This is a good start, keep practicing. :)

Copyright laws apply to Wesnoth. You may not make an era about Naruto. The farthest anyones goten with one of these is the power rangers era which passed by the forums and went straight to the add on server until it was deleted by a moderator.

And at Artistic Dude: There was a ninja faction in Mercenaries era, I don't know if it was uploaded to the 1.7 or 1.6 server though.

Artisticdude: That was why I said that the term we use is 'frankenstein' - I was making a point to Telaron, not trying to be harsh to you - my apologies.

No need to apologize, you're right (not that I have to like it  ). Sorry if I gave the wrong impression. :)
