The face looks a bit cramped- not sure what it is, really. And the level 1 looks like it's leaning forward.

One persistent thing I see in your sprites is that your chest proportions aren't correct- they always have stocky bulked-up chests, as if they had dwarf proportions. You should consider focusing on fixing that. Also, the lv3 could use more outlining.

Right. I tend to take advice to the extreme sometimes. I was told to tone down the black out lines and I got rid of them altogether. Not very clever. Any way here is the updated berserker and I'll get to work on the crossbowmen now.

one: 'Here have my crossbow. I know I don't have anything else to fight with but still, i insist.'
second: He's alright. The lighting on the shoulders is not correct, but pretty good otherwise. A good amount of contrast in this one.
third: His helmet lighting is a bit weird, but otherwise, the area around the crossbow looks a bit...foggy. The lighting thought not technically correct, I like. It makes him look shiny and, powerful.

Great work. :D

-brain not working tonight-

Arm looks noodly. Like it's not hinged but rather sort of a rubbery appendage.

Chest is HUGE. Again. Shrink that down a bit- take a look at mainline sprites for proportion help.

Oh dear, more working on the berserker. Is his face alright at least?
I've put some more definite outlines on the Lvl 3 Crossbowman.

Perhaps you could make a new race of those bulky men... I like the first crossbow dude. The others' stance looks quite crampy and uncomfortable.

I think you're trying too hard to be anatomically correct when you create skeletons, which just doesn't work at the sprite scale Wesnoth uses. Compare your skeletons to the mainline skeletons, and decide how much detail you really need and how much is just making the skeleton look disproportionate to the other sprites. Other than that, most impressive work! :)

Ok, clearly this still needs work. But just for an experiment, try ditching the white dots and see how it looks. Also, try getting rid of the mouth hole.

I decided to do a little do up to give you an idea of how eye holes with white dots work best.

The eyes look more like they're inside the helmet. And the eye holes are sloped with the helmet. And he looks angrier, like every berserker should.

I'll probably just leave his face like that. :) Thanks.

No problem. :)
Now I think that shield needs a drop shadow. So it looks less flat.

I've been playing metal slug loads and have been inspired by the vehicles and stuff, so I've made a tank of my own.
Hope you like it.

Not bad. Not exactly Metal-Slug quality, but darn close. Full custom right? Did you use inspiration or reference from real life?

Yeah, Metal Slug has some of the best sprites EVAR. Studing their style is good practice for pretty much every single other style out there ever.

Gee, I can't really find anything to criticize here. Nice work.

Thanks! Although, as my first, I took the front 6 links of track off a metal slug tank 'cause I coulden't make mine work.

Also, do tanks really have headlights there? :P I wouldn't know.

You stole the treads? Tsk tsk. Go study their construction and reverse engineer them. I await new treads.

Most WWII era tanks had small headlights. New treads coming up. :)

EDIT: New Treads.
