Re: Majors Art
Quite impressive, though the gun is hard to read at first sight. Also, he's a bit imbalanced and seems to be leaning forward.
Re: Majors Art
My my, it's been a while.
Decided to try and get my hand into Wesnoth style again by making an edit of the Spearman. And a bunch of stuff I did for another game, Cortex Command.

Re: Majors Art
Aaaand another version, with the original.
Edit: Poacher too. The righthand one is too stiff and the left looks weirdly twisted.

Re: Majors Art
I tried to do a golem of sorts. Sorta pleased at how it turned out.

Re: Majors Art
Hello Major, I just wanted to give you some support because I really like what you're doing here!
A little critisicm: I liked the spear from your older version more than the new one and the shape of the helmet doesn't really look like head's shape(which is how helmets are and were shaped) so I suggest making it a little rounder. The poucher is great, I even like his right hand(the one without bow) but his left hand is really wierdly curved - I'd suggest making it a little more like his right hand. The golem also looks very cool but I'd change the feet a little, especially where the ankles are supposed to be.
Your work's great so keep it up!

Re: Majors Art
The spearmans helmet is actually shaped like his head, it's just a little hard to see. I don't know why. But I wasn't happy with the spear either, so:
The poachers hand is kinda realistic, when your hand hangs limp by your side it stays in a neutral half open half closed position, or at least mine does. But here is a different version anyway.
I'm not quite sure what you meant about the golems ankles though. It's not actually supposed to have ankles, its "feet" are joined directly to its calves.Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool.
Re: Majors Art
The hands weren't really so bad, the middle and right version from previous post looked a bit puffy, but the left-most looked OK. The biggest critique I'd have is to question the Spandex blouse you've given him; I'm sure you can come up with a better design than that.Major wrote:The poachers hand is kinda realistic, when your hand hangs limp by your side it stays in a neutral half open half closed position, or at least mine does. Re: Majors Art
Is there any reason to keep the olive green suit? I think the vest and sleeves could be separate pieces, thus different colors. I do like the progress, the original is a bit odd.
For example (one could also keep the light green vest and change the sleeves):

Damnit, ninja'd. D:
But yeah that's a good point, that olive colour is flat and ugly as well as lacking any hue shifting, which apparently is fairly good to have in a sprite according to every tutorial ever.
So without further ado: And I touched up mah golem and made some variants, rock and clay. I didn't realise how turdlike the original golem looked until now, Goddamnit.
