Re: SFault's franken art
Here's a dude with less stolen weapon and less poofy robe. I really couldn't think of ways (nor reasons) to make different kind of robes, but here's a one with more decoration and with clearer weapon.

Re: SFault's franken art
The loincloth of the left one looks flat - i would suggest giving it folds, like the right one.

Re: SFault's franken art
He was trying to make it not look like the right one because the previous set all had the same boring robes.
Re: SFault's franken art
Yes but it still looks very unrealistic. Nice job with the flails.

Re: SFault's franken art
I tried to fix the tabard-thingy, but it's still not so clear what's wrong with it. There's also a Swamp Troll from scratch and a gravestone.
The rest is art for my campaign-to-be. Elven zombie princess, undead warrior lord and a henchman for the lord.

Re: SFault's franken art
That's a lot better as far as the tabard goes.
Your gravestone is rather small, low, and dark. I initially just identified it as a rock.
The troll has a strange posture; his thighs are extremely thick and his nose is rather strange (although that may be intended).
The troll itself needs darker shading INSIDE the border lines, and you should NOT be using black as a border color; try using very dark green.

The rogue guys on the bottom row appear to be missing a right arm.

I believe that it's supposed to be hidden by the cloak, but yeah, you should probably make that clearer.Captain_Wrathbow wrote:The rogue guys on the bottom row appear to be missing a right arm.
Also, why does your swamp troll have a beak? Does he dive into the water like a duck to get fish?
Re: SFault's franken art
I actually thought to make that guy one-armed (but only after I had made the sprite). It would fit well into the story and make the character rather unique.
About the swamp troll. After seeing the current sky drake I just had to make a troll with such nose. It got a bit too big. The legs are too fat and the pelvis area is out of place or something. Most likely I'll dump that one and start from scratch again (sometime).
EDIT: Added the hand and fixed the cloak a bit.

Re: SFault's franken art
Overall these are very nice, but the weapons seem to be misshapen and have a large blob at the tip. The sides of a bladed weapon like a sword should ideally be parallel in relation to each other, and the shading should get lighter towards the tip. But keep it up, I like these.

Re: SFault's franken art
Maybe he's trying to give them a sort of Katana or Scimitar sword?artisticdude wrote:The sides of a bladed weapon like a sword should ideally be parallel in relation to each other
Re: SFault's franken art
One tiny weeeeeeeeenie little nitpick.
I noticed that the hoods, look slightly square, it's pretty easy to fix. If you can be bothered.
Nice work BTW.

Re: SFault's franken art
It should be somewhat similar to a scimitar, but the top was a bit blobby. Also tried to remove the box-hoods, but wasn't too succesful.
