Here's a few things I notice: The warrior captain's right arm is a little on the thin side. Another thing about the warrior captain (I hate to sound ignorant) is his head a helmet or a face. I'm presuming it's a helmet because of the plume, but those two white pixels on the face kinda throw me. The Seljjian fighter seems to be holding his bow a little awkwardly. It's ok but maybe you should create an archer unit and give the bow to him. Hope this is helpful!

Hmm :hmm: This looks good! You might consider lightening the highlights a little. He seems a little dark. Maybe its just me. The spear shaft looks a little thin for the spear head. Just ignore me if you want to.

Hmm, my only comment right now is that he's holding his weapons funny. He would probably carry his spear straight up and down when he's not using it (right now it looks like it's directly in front of the horses legs). You could also lower his sword a bit, but that's my opinion.

BTW, are we going to see any animation for these sprites?

No animation right now, I'l animate them after I've done all the main frames  . In answer to telaron, yes I will change A lighting slightly.
Oh and about the way he holds his spear, although I haven't done a diagram on him yet, they are held horizontally in clips on the horses saddle when not it use. So I'll probably make it horizontal rather than vertical.

The angle doesn't feel quite right... I think we should be seeing less of the legs on the back left side.

The leg facing away and nearest its tail seems stretched unnaturally, like it was lifting it up to move and it was frozen in that pose.
