Yeah, it is.
But samurais had helmets like that. Maybe not that big, but well. It's cool to have a huge helmet.

I know that, and I must say that the shape is well achieved, as it is easily recognized. But the helmet is as big as the body. So, the armour would be like that:

Just kidding ;)

I tried making a Mal(in) Keshar sprite. I edited it from Ancient Lich. I tried to make it like the portrait Kitty made. I don't know if it looks like it, but well.

Is it good?

Quite good, but you may want to use the new type of skull from either the lich or skeleton warrior/archer

Ohh. :(
I had already animated it but well. I could still fix it, but I myself like that skull more... Looks more like a... hmm... ancient in my opinion. And it is ancient, so...
Here are the anims. He is a little too stiff, maybe. But he is ancient, and not too... unstiff, so I think it doesn't matter so much. But if people want me to make proper anims, I can make them.

Just do not use that head for new sprites (including this one).

But I used the head of Ancient Lich. :?
I mean, so Ancient Lich should also be changed, right...?
Anyway, I changed the head, and made otherwise new anims too, which I like more.

Remember that for magic effects, just like everything else, you can shade them to make them appear a bit more realistic then having it all one color.

And halo effects are generally better than painting them directly on to the frame...

Ok, but the Ancient Lich, Demilich and Dread Lich have the defending "shield" in the sprite.. But anyway, hmm. I'll stick with these.
Anyway, I decided to make Let'Leg (a lich in the campaign I'm making) a sprite which looks like the portrait I made for him.

Those 1px dots don't work and the hand without staff looks odd. :|

Please, do something else for a while, come back and look at it yourself. Correct things what you see. Look at it again. Correct things. Look at it. Fix. Look. Fix. Look. Look. Look. Post it here.

I have to agree. The uniformity and the fact that the 1px dots go straight down in parallel rows on a sprite that is not facing the viewer seems a bit weird. What purpose are they serving anyways, what are they supposed to be? I also find it slightly odd that an undead lich has lovely healthy skin on his hands and feet.

They are... buttons?

Next question: why does a lich use... buttons?

They're buttons. You can see it in the portrait ( http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic. ... &start=135 ).

I suppose they have the same reason to wear them as any other "person".

Indeed, but I still stand by my statement that having them go down in a straight rows like that makes them appear to not actually be a part of the lich's clothing..
