Re: Minotaur Artwork Revised

thankyou both for the nice comments :)

Espreon, the crystals will morph into an ethereal staff. I didnt have much time so i wasnt able to show you, but i did do it for the defence frame, where he uses the crystals to form a shield

EDIT: I added all the files i used. Im not sure if it is easier to code the defence frame with the shield in the actual image, or as a halo. (This is mainly because transparancy can affect Team Colouring.) So i posted two versions of the image.

I think it's pretty cool. :) But the arms could maybe be a little bit slower? or so they could'nt move so much? But otherwise, that's really cool. :D

Well, if you're going to put it into the image it would be easier to code, but you'd have to make sure the transparency isn't influencing the tc (by making the areas they overlap light tc). Halo's are a bit harder to code but wouldn't be as messy. However, they do have the major problem of not flipping along with the unit when it changes direction.

That defense animation is awesomeness incarnate... I simply cannot wait to code these... However I need to get TSL Demo 0.5 on the addon server first...

ok update. I decided to go with the shield in the image, rather than a halo. It should affect theTC too much as the animation is rather short and the shield should cover any TC that is showing.

Ive also done the standing animation for the Warlock, thus completing him. I'll animate all of the minotaurs after ive finnished the base images.

Standing animations are a nice touch, and you've avoided making it too distracting.

Maybe it doesn't look this way in-game, but he looks a little bit like a statue, holding his arms out like that with the flying objects dancing around. Might it help if his hands or robes moved just a little?

hmm, i fear then that would make the sprite too distracting. I'll se how it turns out in game

But for now...another sprite!!!!! the elder (lvl 3 of the shaman)

I have only done the base frame atm...im basing it on the same idea as the warlock and his crystals

EDIT: added the standing frame, pretty simple like the warlock. I believe he is now completed

That's really cool! But I have a question, why does it have a blind fold? Do all Warlocks get blind when they level up? Or is it just coolness? If it's just coolness, that's really cool. :)

Ah, well in the history of the minotaurs, they elect Apostles who are able to communicate with their gods. However to be granted this ability they must first sacrifse their primary sense (I'll let you imagine how they do this lol). They use crystals to talk and recieve instructions from their deity. They can also use the power of the crystals to sense their surroundings, so in a way they can still see, just they dont use their eyes to do so. Only the most powerful mages are elected hence why the elder's are blindfolded (my idea being the deity burns their eyes out or something lol, and so they dont wish to show their scars). Hope that explains things
