Random 'reverse alignment' units
These are a couple 'reverse' undead units inspired by this thread: http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=21144
These aren't really for anything since doing manual edits to every 'reverse' unit is too much work. They're just for fun.
So without further ado, the Light Adept and Light Scorceror.
The idea (or rather my idea) behind the 'reverse' or lawful Undead is that they only raise those who want to be raised. I.e. those who want to fight for a cause like defending their descendants. The Good Undead faction would be directly opposed to the regular Undead faction because of their opposite views on the dead that they raise; Regular necromancers raise minions, good necromancers raise allies.

- I made the skull golden as i figured a 'good' necromancer wouldn't use actual bones in his regalia out of respect to the dead.

(don't worry- I'm not laughing at you.)
The Dark adept and sorcerer dressed in white just made me laugh.
Time to get to work on the white magi?

Re: Random 'reverse alignment' units
and they rise them like this or something?

Ah yes, that guy.Syntax_Error wrote:and they rise them like this or something?
But on that note, what can i do with the color of the skeletons to make them look 'good' or at least clean looking?
Re: Random 'reverse alignment' units
Should have a lighter/shiny armor (not dust on armor, so it has more cleaner things)Neoskel wrote:Ah yes, that guy.Syntax_Error wrote:and they rise them like this or something?

The ghost could be turned into an ancestor/guiding spirit so with a face it should be less tretical.
The rest, open to interpretation.
Between, the matches between light vs dark undead resulted on something refreshing and entertaining.

I'd really prefer not to do anything other than recolor.Vendanna wrote:Should have a lighter/shiny armor (not dust on armor, so it has more cleaner things)Neoskel wrote: But on that note, what can i do with the color of the skeletons to make them look 'good' or at least clean looking?

And i'm not sure what you mean by that last sentence...
Oh and here, have an 'Ectomancer'. Ectomancy being the benign form of Necromancy, they summon those of their undead allies which have been separated from their bodies but lack the willpower to manifest as ghosts to take over their enemies' corpses.

Surely we can think of a better name than "ectomancy"...Neoskel wrote:Oh and here, have an 'Ectomancer'. Edit: Also, lawful Saurians. Of the Salamander tribe. Or whatever.

This might be too subtle a change, but meh...Vendanna wrote:Should have a lighter/shiny armor (not dust on armor, so it has more cleaner things)Neoskel wrote:But on that note, what can i do with the color of the skeletons to make them look 'good' or at least clean looking?

Bleached bones skeletons, i was toying with the idea but lets see if you can do it better. It looks different at least.irrevenant wrote:This might be too subtle a change, but meh...Vendanna wrote: Should have a lighter/shiny armor (not dust on armor, so it has more cleaner things)
Re: Random 'reverse alignment' units
Yes, the skeleton is looking better, tought it seems that's not enough to differenciate it from its evil counterpart unless we add something.
Ideas to make it differenciate a bit could be modifying either the weapon color, or the bones ones (since bone is what they are most composed off and what it would allow to detect it).
Golden color, or a "toasted" yellow color, I was thinking on the color the bone could get when they receive the sun's light (to show the difference between their dark loving counterparts)

Re: Random 'reverse alignment' units
You could make his clothes not tattered; bit more than a recolor, but not too hard.
that little girl's parents were attacked by ninjas - generic npc

Re: Random 'reverse alignment' units
This is a Idea I myself had been toying with, Perhaps you could frankenstine together undead and standard good-guy units. try whitening the bones, giving them less tattered clothes. use gold and lighter metal. try to ditch the skull motif on units who already have skulls for heads (or those ghosty ones that have no apparent face.) If I have a chance I'll try to contribute what little I can to this project. !!!!
Re: Random 'reverse alignment' units
More of the 'Salamander Saurians' or whatever.
