Castle sketches

I'm learning the ropes on Wings 3D, and it makes very easy to sketch out ideas for castles. Here's one, with sloping embankment and bastions instead of towers (obviously, they would only be present at convex corners). It might be good for some more "modern" style faction.

how about doing a castle that doesnt exist yet? like, saurian or orcish...

Looks nice so far though I don't know how it can be used exactly?

These are just models feeling out the basic shape. They won't be used directly, but they can be used as a guide when making the sprites.

I have an Undead castle under works, and also have an idea for a Draken one.

They look awesome, but they would be out of place in the whole Wesnoth game, IMO.

Uh, the idea isn't to put the 3d models directly in the game, it's to use them to get an idea of what the castle should look like then redraw it in pixel art...

I'm not sure what's so mean about Turin's comment - it looks like a simple statement of fact to me.

btw, WHY shouldnt the models be used as base for the real castle sprites? when scaled small enough, they would look fine enough for a start imo.

WHY shouldnt the models be used as base for the real castle sprites? when scaled small enough, they would look fine enough for a start imo.
The castle perspective in Wesnoth is slightly quirky, because the castles are supposed to be hexagonal, but looking like the shape of Wesnoth hex from an angle. That is, they must be stretched in N-S axis, and therefore a real 3d model might not completely fit.
