I see that people were busy while I was away.

I'm going to bump this, to keep it visible (as was the point originally).

I edited the original post to point to page 9 as having the most complete collection so far (Excellent work on that, furioso) and hope that this resource can be of use to modders for a long time to come.

Took care of the smiley problem, Mr. Lizard. They should not be coming back.

Here is a wikipage for what you need to know about Sprite Art. On the same site you'll find a link to recommended Art Programs.
Art Programs page wrote:Big Note: It is mostly-possible to make wesnoth graphics with nothing more than MSPaint or Appleworks. However, there are two major and vital things lacking in those programs - first, these programs cannot make images with transparent pixels, and second, they may not be able to save in the PNG format used by Wesnoth. A program capable of those will have to be applied to images made with MSPaint when they are finished.
While it is possible to do most of the work with Paint (and I think one art contributor even did that), It it probably much easier to do it in Gimp from the start.

The best way to learn is to follow. In order to learn WML, you have to follow other's work, and check their codes.

If someone in the artistic industry wants to sticky it, I wouldn't mind. I don't want to sticky my own thread, as a point of professional courtesy.

This isn't my part of the forum to fill up with Sticky's, so I'll let an art mod make the decision.
