Lavinian art resizing
The Lavinians were starting to look like dwarves next to the new mainline units. So, I've begun resizing them.

The L3 units could use slightly broader shoulders.
Including old Lavinians and/or mainline human images would make helpful comment easier.

Their swords are a little distubing- I think it's either the lack of points on the end, or the way they are holding them.
The exception would be the propugnator- he looks normal, and I think his weapon positioning is best, it looks more natural to me.
The legonaries looks like a needle- Bringing his down like the propugnators might help, so you are looking at the flat of the blade. Same for level two signifier's.
The centurions sword looks like he's stabbing the ground (I think it looks like he has it on a belt or something so it's out of the way, but I can't tell.). I think this is just because his arms are longer than the praetoriens- if you angle the tip up a bit, or shorten his arms, I think he'd look normal.
otherwise they look fine to me.
I really need to learn to do art.

Oh no look out its a ray gun.
You should move to avoid the rays
the rays are coming out of the gun
if you are hit by the rays
you will be shot by the rays
the rays are fast so you should be fast to
can you win against the fast rays from the gun?

l3 spearman's arm is too long. It extends almost all the way down to his knee!

Eleazar did. They're about 10x better than the hippos I drew.

Err, i mostly did. The rider is mostly taken from the Nemidian Horseman line, but the hippos contains all Eleazar-brand pixels. I hadn't drawn hippos in quite some time, and i became facinated by their weird form. It took me a while. The hippo's skin is perhaps too dark.Neoriceisgood wrote:Holy cow those hippos look completely far-out awesome, who made them?

I used various tools other than a 1 pix wide fully opaque brush, if that's how you define "not pixel art". But to make units look decent at this size most of the time does have to be spent with a 1 pix brush. I certainly didn't resize a photo of a hippo. I resized some portions as a start for the different levels of hippos.Neoriceisgood wrote:Oh, they're not pixel art, I was about to cry.
In art, the results are more important than the technique, and you get results you don't need to be ashamed of.
